Welcome to the McNally Lab

Welcome to the McNally lab.  We are located in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Davis.  We work on the mechanisms of asymmetric spindle positioning, chromosome segregation and polar body formation during female meiosis in C. elegans.

Our Research

MEIOSIS comes from the Greek word for “reduce” because is it is a mechanism for reducing chromosome number, usually 4 fold. The reduced chromosome number then allows mixing of different genomes during fertilization in plants and animals or during mating.
